Enjoy kitesurf in the wild north of the Boa Vista island
Great kitesurf spot in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde !
Ponta Antonia is located in the north part of the island where the dominant wind (North / N.E) is entering directly without any obstacles on its way. We could think that the wind there is stronger that in the Bay of Sal Rei… but not ! Indeed, on his way to Sal Rei, the wind will accelerate and create some gust.
So as you can imagine, on a the big advantage of the spot is the constant wind !!
Moreover Ponta Antonia is orientated SIDE ON which make it a very safe spot (no need of rescue boat). Kitesurfing there is really good.. ! Not so crowded (max 10-15 kitesurfers) , you can ride alone if you arrive early enough.
Located at 35 min of car from Sal Rei, you will cross the village of Bofareira and then follow the direction of Espiguera eco-lodge through beautiful desertic landscapes.
Arrived on the spot, you will find a small bay …here you are !! The spot is quite easy : small waves to enter the water, then in the middle, the water is quite flat. If you go more far away up wind, you can find nice waves.. not very powerful but big enough to really enjoy and have fun !
Gorgeous spot for both twintip and strapless adepts : very clear water, many turtles…careful riding to not hit them.
Only inconvenient : not very large spot ! You have to be also careful because there is some rocks on the sides.

Keep in mind that is you go kitesurfing to Ponta Antonia, you will be in the middle of the desert…take water and food ! Spot untouched and wild !
